“The key to ultimately ending poverty and injustice for women in Africa is through education, and particularly education for girls,” says Lotte Davis, CEO and co-founder of AG Hair. Through proceeds from every bottle sold, AG has been building schools for girls in Africa since 2008 and has raised over $700,000 under its philanthropic umbrella, the Women Leading Change Foundation. OBSCO Appointed to Represent Zarran Canada in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec

Posted on 14 November 2011 by DELCommInc

Image: http://www.zerran.com/

(LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9, 2011) — Ottawa Beauty Supply Company (OBSCO), a private Canadian company, has been appointed to represent and distribute Zerran Hair Care products throughout Ottawa, Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Zerran’s innovative RealLisse® Vegan Hair Smoothing System and a broad collection of 100 per cent vegan shampoos, conditioners, styling enhancers and other professional services for salon use are now available at OBSCO. Fernanda Pimentel, president of Fernanda’s Beauty Products and Zerran Canada, made the announcement. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Zerran Canada serves as the master distributor for Zerran International in Canada and the Mediterranean.

“We are simply delighted,” says Pimentel, “as OBSCO is such a well-known, forward-thinking company. It’s team has earned a reputation for representing the best salon products and offering superb customer service, and they are extremely committed to ongoing stylist education.”

To support the launch, Bob Richardson, Zerran Canada’s head trainer and owner of Bob-R-Salon in Oakville, Ontario, conducted a day-long RealLisse® training session with OBSCO educators and select stylists on October 30.

OBSCO president, Mark Vaughan notes, “Our business has to keep a fresh and modern perspective with a vision for consistent, positive changes, which in turn enhances the business of our clients. What is especially interesting in these challenging times is that the beauty industry is still doing well, and we are confident a groundbreaking product like Zerran RealLisse definitely has its place in the market mix.”

Zerran International president, Steve Sauté agrees and welcomes the addition of OBSCO to the Zerran distribution network. He notes, “Consumers, especially working women, feel compelled to maintain an image of success, so they keep up their hair, nails and skin, even if they cut back in other areas.” A statistic from the NPD Group, an international marketing research company, seems to bear that out. Its findings suggest that during the height of the economic downturn in 2010, Americans still spent $43.5 billion to be beautiful.

OPI Revamps iPhone Application with New Visuals, Greater Speed and More Colors

Posted on 07 November 2011 by DELCommInc

OPI announces the re-launch of the OPI Application for the iPhone® and iPod Touch®.  The updated OPI App continues to offer an easy, free way to browse and search over 200 OPI nail lacquer shades – now at faster speeds.  The Try It On Color Studio continues to provide a look at all current OPI shades, while the search feature now incorporates retired shades, allowing users to view past favourites and information about the year in which those hues were retired.

The updated OPI App also includes higher resolution images to further enhance visual displays. In addition to running faster, the application now has the capability to wait in the background while other programs are used, namely Facebook. This feature gives users the option to check OPI’s Facebook page without having to leave the OPI App.

“The improved OPI App gives fans the chance to try on lacquers easier than before. The App’s Try it on Studio has been hugely popular, and we are happy to improve upon and expand it. It’s a great resource when choosing your lacquer at the salon, since you can get an idea of how a color looks on your hand before committing,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “The portable nature of the OPI App makes it easy to take while shopping and choose a lacquer shade to accessorize any new dress, top or jacket right there in the store!”

The OPI App also includes a search bar with word prompt technology; after typing just a few letters, any possible options will be proffered. Since its original debut, the App has added a sort-by-collection feature, highlighting current collections and promotions so that users will know what’s new to the brand. The App even lets users select favorites, storing lacquer choices for future reference.

The OPI App is available at Apple.com and is free to download. This application works with all iPhone and iPod Touch devices running software update iOS 5.

For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit www.opi.com.  Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!
