The leader in backstage beauty, Redken 5th Avenue NYC returns to Toronto Fashion Week as the official hair sponsor from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18. Entering into its ninth season, Redken’s lead stylist Jorge Joao and the elite styling team will continue to surpass expectations by combining their creativity with each designer’s vision to create inspirational looks for the FW16 runway.
“It’s always exciting to participate in Toronto Fashion Week. The event showcases and supports the nation’s top creative talent in the fashion industry,” said Jorge Joao, lead stylist. “Toronto Fashion Week gives my team and I the opportunity to embrace our creativity and think outside-the-box to create the newest fashion-forward hair trends.”
For a second season, Redken will be partnering with the Toronto Fashion Academy for a special activation taking place backstage during Toronto Fashion Week. Students from the academy will submit sketches of a wearable gown inspired by Redken that is comprised of 60 per cent recycled Redken capes and 40 per cent recycled materials. Selected by a panel of judges including Noreen Flanagan, Editor-in-chief of Elle Canada, Barb Atkin, previous vice-president of Fashion Director at Holt Renfrew and Roger Gingeric, fashion broker, the winning design will be brought to life and showcased backstage at Toronto Fashion Week.
Redken will manage the hairstyles of all runway shows throughout Toronto Fashion Week. For an insider look at what’s happening backstage, follow @RedkenCanada on Twitter and Instagram.
Daily alerts of select designer looks will be available following each show.
